Web Developer

Background

Syntasa, a leader in applying AI and ML to big data in the marketing space, is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and creative Web Developer to manage and produce our digital assets. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, a continuous desire to innovate, and project management skills. The ideal candidate is able to work under deadlines with strong attention to detail and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. You will have a collaborative approach to working on a team and the ability to relate to and work with a variety of stakeholders in a professional manner.  

Key responsibilities include: Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices; Create a website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices; Integrate data from various back-end services and databases; Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs; Create and maintain software documentation; Own the maintenance, expansion, and scaling of our site in WordPress, including landing pages in Hubspot; Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities; Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent; Manage both back-end and front-end development, including WordPress themes and plugins; And review current digital presence and make recommendations on best course of action forward in our digital brand. 

Note: This is a contract position. Candidates must submit web samples in order to be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have WordPress 5.0 and embrace Gutenberg Block Building.
  • Can use React or has a strong understanding of ES6
  • Proven working experience in web programming and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
  • Hands-on experience with performance analytics tools, troubleshooting, and problem-resolution
  • Understanding of technical Search Engine Optimization practices
